How to take care of your well being & when to ask for help

Lt's overthrown the mindset of "You are weak if you ask for help. You are strong enough to figure it out!"

I don't argue with the fact that we are all quite capable when we are determined to get things done and move in a certain direction. BUT there are things we don't see and stuff we don't know.

Here is a list of 7 life moments when joining forces with a mental- health professional is a sign of maturity and wisdom:

- you don't like something you do, the way you think or how you behave

& you want help to make a meaningful change

- you want help with setting goals and pursuing them in a sustainable, efficient manner

- you are facing a big transition

- your past is hunting you

- too many things are happening in your life, and you feel overwhelmed

- you talk s**t to yourself- every. single. day

- you feel you lost your focus and don't have a plan for your future

What would you add?

We must take care of our mind if we want to enjoy a happy, less stressful and more fulfilling life.

This is how you can take care of your wellbeing

Now let's look at what you can do (and it doesn't involve a tone of work) to take care of your mind and feel in control of your emotions and thoughts.

But first, a short story: Once I went to the dentist and asked me if my gums bleed. I said, "Yes, from time to time."

And she asked: "If your knee would bleed from time to time, would you just wait and see what's going to happen or go immediately to the doctor?"

I don't like going to the dentist, but I had to give her the credit for asking a very good question. Something very applicable now, especially for the past 1,5 years when we had to live in circumstances we never expected to live through.

So... If our mental well-being is teetering on a sharp edge, why don't we do something about it?

As with anything related to our physical health, we must take care of our mind if we want to enjoy a happy, less stressful and more fulfilling life.

These are 5 ways you can do just that:

- journal

Stop carrying around in your head all your plans, thoughts, worries and ideas. Download them on paper! You will see how much lighter the head will feel.

- move!

Moving your body helps the mind. And you don't have to suddenly become a gym enthusiast or run a marathon. A quiet, 30-min walk is enough to help you shed some stress and put thoughts in order.

- don't believe all that crosses your mind- thoughts.are.not.facts!!!!

- take a break!

Yes, a pause is as important as a round of deep-focused work. No men or machine can run at full capacity forever.

- learn to name what you feel

A good and rich emotional vocabulary helps you express yourself, make your needs known and make better decisions.
